I did something kind of out of the ordinary this week… well, at least it was out of the ordinary for me. I opted to read books before bedtime rather than watch tv. It was a little thing, and one I went into begrudgingly, but this momentous moment created two more… momentous moments. First of all, I had time to read the books I’m always complaining I don’t have enough time for AND I fell asleep fast (and didn’t have weird nightmares from the tv being left on!).
Then a third thing miraculous event occurred and this is why I’m mentioning this in the first place- I woke up- excited. I slept with my book beside me and while I loved having visions of the British countryside dancing through my head, it was the excitement over the fact that I felt like I had done the one thing no human has ever done before… I created TIME.
And I created inertia. I’ve been dragging out of bed these last few weeks but on THIS day I jumped out of bed, flung the curtains open, and hurried about my day so I could repeat my newfound habit… the creating of time…
Well, we all know I did no such thing for real, but it felt like that. Time for the things I love. Isn’t that something we all struggle with? So, this weekend I am sending you off with a quick goodbye because it is Thursday night and all I can think about is my book, which is just waiting on my nightstand, enticing me to come to bed.
As we continue into this new year, I hope we can all find these little habits that help us create a few more minutes in each day to do the little things we love so much. I have so much vision for what I want to accomplish this year and it’s just so exciting! I hope you’ve got a list as well and together we can bend time and do amazing things together!
