Musings on Preparing for Magic
Happy Friday!! It’s getting real guys! Only two Saturdays are left in October and you know what that means… the holidays are imminent! The buzz is real and the happy vibes are undeniable! We are having the times of our lives prepping for the upcoming season! Deciding to do a country Christmas is already turning out to be amongst my best decisions… it keeps us somewhere between the buzz of going a bit overboard and the allure of nature walks and foraging… for our garlands and wreaths, of course! I’ve always seen magic around us. To me, it was always a non-negotiable. Without it, how can we ever find joy in the big things and the little all around us? It is ours to create, through candles and pillows and warm fires and the right music (jazz is always a good idea if you ask me!) We need a warm pie, and lamps dimmed, and comfy blankets and warm sweaters and nature walks wth the cold turning our cheeks a little rosy!
There is no better time than right now to get out your favorite recipes, make a list of all the things you want to do (and maybe a few you don’t!). Get outside, listen to the crunch of leaves under your feet, and start checking on the Christmas decor. We thought long and hard about the kind of Christmas that we thought would be the most magical one ever, and this just feels so right! With baskets overflowing with wood and sticks, our gathering baskets exploding with pinecones and acorns, it is exhilarating to imagine roasted chestnuts and vases with greens from the cypress trees we planted a few years ago. I’ve never been so excited for a holiday season and I hope you will join us for what we hope will be pure magic!
We wish you a wonderful weekend, full of love and light and crunching leaves and cold mornings and mist rising off the water and a light, always a light warming your windows with a glow!
Sending a hug and a kiss for each cheek! xxV
