Guys, I did something this week that I’ve been dreaming about for YEARS. Since the moment we moved into this home, I’ve wanted a front porch that actually felt like a front porch—you know, the kind you read about in novels and see in those dreamy Southern movies. There’s just something about front porch culture down here… sitting out in that golden late-afternoon light with a sweating glass of sweet tea, listening to the crickets and frogs start their evening symphony. (Yes, I know I sometimes live in a world sweeter than my tea, but honestly? That’s kind of the whole point!)
So this week, I finally did it. I ordered the most gorgeous outdoor wicker chairs—and guys, they did not disappoint! I was supposed to wait until morning to set them up so I could film the whole thing properly… but who was I kidding? I couldn’t wait one more minute.
Here’s the thing—this is what it’s all about. Creating the life you actually want to wake up for, and then letting your home rise up to meet it. The decor isn’t the dream. The dream is the dream. The chairs, the tea, the slow afternoons with people you love—THAT’S the good stuff. Decor is simply how we make room for it.
So I bought the chairs. I brewed the tea. And I created the space of my dreams. xxV
