Two DIY IKEA Hacks You Won’t BELIEVE!

June 27, 2017 · In: Before and After, Design, DIY, Interior Design

With a before like that, it’s hard to imagine the after not being better, but o.m.g. The After is SOOO good!  British Designer, Malcom Begg, has shown us two brilliant DIY IKEA Hacks that will literally blow your mind… but not your budget. To create this look you will need to first rip out all that awful carpet, remove the rickety closet doors and paint the room a glorious shade of grey.

Next enters the DIY IKEA Hack closet.  Using the pax system (we were just talking about those doors!), custom fit your closets into your wall nook for a totally custom look!

You could add trim above the fireplace if you are lucky enough to have one in the bedroom or a dresser would be great here as well!

Don’t forget to include great accessories.  Concrete pots, geometric vases, and modern lighting all add to the impact.

With an impact like that, you may be tempted to move on to the living room.  Especially if the before looks like this:

Paint and modern overhead lighting will go a long way to major wow factor.

Painting the mantel dark is another way to bring up the drama.  An modern sofa and table add wonderful juxtaposition to a traditional room.

A blend of accessory styles will help the space feel pulled together.  (vintage pottery vase, sleek candle holder, + African doll?  yes!)

That’s all great, but these IKEA Hacks bookcases are pure genius!  I love the drawers, the baskets, and the lighting (all sold at IKEA!) Find these great DIY’s and so much more at Design 69.

We have loads of spas near us! Good luck with everything, though. I know it can be pretty overwhelming in the middle of it. xx
