Guys, can we talk about lighting for a second? Because I am convinced it is the single most underrated detail in a home. Not the furniture, not the paint color — the light. It changes everything. The warmth, the mood, the way a room feels at 7pm when the candles are going and the lamps are on and suddenly your living room looks like somewhere you genuinely never want to leave.
I had been obsessing over gourd lamps for months. Months. The designer versions started at $450 — for one — and climbed well over $1,000. I nearly talked myself into it approximately a billion times. And then I found a pair, shades included, on Amazon for $122. I am not even slightly embarrassed about this. I am absolutely beside myself.
They are creamy and glossy and sculptural and they look absolutely gorgeous flanking the console — paired with stacked coffee table books, a bamboo frame with a black and white photo of the boys, a white coral piece, and glass hurricanes with pillar candles glowing between them. The whole vignette just sings.
And honestly? This is exactly what it feels like when a room starts becoming the home you always imagined.
Sending hugs and a kiss for each cheek! xxV
