Take The Scary Out of The Guest Bathroom :: Guest Bathroom Before & After

Valentina Fussell Guest Bathroom Makeover-2
I teamed up with my mom these last couple days and made over her guest bathroom in preparation for my Grandmother’s arrival this week. It was looking a little dark, cluttered, brown and well… just plain awful with our unplanned invasion in the space.  The bathroom has no windows, so that definitely makes grabbing photos a little more difficult, but the room feels so much lighter, fresher, and more elegant!

Here is a little video that pretty much sums up how I felt like every time I walked in there before :

THE BEFORE::

Whew!  Pretty bad, right?  It probably won’t come as a surprise to you that I happily jumped in and added a fresh coat of paint to the walls in Polar White, which was my mom’s choice.  She really wanted tons of blue in the space so we let that drive the rest of our decisions.  She happened to have the antique mirror in the garage, so we took down the builder grade mirror, switched out the lighting and added a linen shower curtain that was extra long so we could raise the shower curtain rod almost to the ceiling height.

I put the two art pieces on the same wall that were previously facing each other then took down the extra towel bar that was totally cramping the space.  Next I painted my own art work, added a few of my favorite things to the bath and counter and mom picked out a couple rugs and towels.  One of my favorite parts is definitely the fun deer hook!

The bathroom has no windows, so that definitely makes grabbing photos a little more difficult, but the room feels so much lighter, fresher, and more elegant!
