Woohoo! It’s Friday again! What a wonderful feeling this day brings- the weekend is ahead and so many possibilities! We, of course, love to spend ours baking, cuddling, playing games, and spending as much time together as a family! That got me thinking about the family room, a room which literally named for its purpose. I love when I get asked to do a family room for a client or a friend or family member because I know this space is where some of the best memories will be made! I believe that creating a room with the purpose we intend is so important, but daydreaming beyond somewhere to sit and watch tv is so important! Don’t be afraid to dream up your fantasy use of the space and how the space should feel and make sure you think about fabrics (the York sofa featured in this week’s mood board is our absolute favorite! Always go for down, performance fabric like the basketweave in alabaster or oatmeal! Timeless and durable options for sure!).
Also, consider adding loads of plush pillows, lighting that can be dimmed and lots of storage for game systems, books, and board games! This room is the one space built for memory making and loads of cuddles, so why not make it the best room in the entire house?
Well, however you choose to spend the weekend, I hope you find time to slow down a bit and spend time with your friends and loved ones! And don’t forget to take loads of pictures!
