Let’s talk about the corners! Because everyone pours their heart into the big walls and the center of the room and then just… forget the corners. Friends, that is a crime. Corners are where the magic happens! They’re the little stage where your home gets to show off, get playful, do something unexpected —like I did with mine! I really had fun with this one! and it’s BUDGET FRIENDLY so you can easily do the same thing in your home!
So here’s how my new favorite corner came to life.
I started with this fluted pedestal from H&M — and let me just say, the moment I saw it I gasped. So cool, so architectural, those ribbed lines doing the most in the best possible way. Then I crowned it with the most stunning sculptural ceramic vase, and I’m not exaggerating when I say this might be one of the best pieces I’ve brought home in ages. It’s curvy, it’s moody, and perfectly dramatic — basically everything I love.
But a tall piece like that needs a friend down below to ground it and soften all that height, you know? So I tucked this beautiful stone sphere (you guys know I love the balls!) from CB2 right at the base — and chef’s kiss — instantly the whole thing felt anchored and intentional. Then came the great pillow hunt. I tried a few but the second I set down the knot pillow, I just knew. That was the one. Sculptural, soft, a little cheeky. Done and done.
And then — my favorite part, the part that took the whole corner from “pretty” to “oh WOW” — the fresh greenery. We’d been needing to trim back our big fig tree anyway, so I clipped a few branches and let them go gloriously wild in the vase. Those leaves against the black ceramic, with the garden glowing through the window behind it? I could just cry, it’s so good. (And listen — fig is what I had, but truly any clipping from your yard will work. Olive, eucalyptus, magnolia, whatever’s growing — go snip it!)
This is such an easy way to dress up a corner! I’ve linked all the details for you so you can… go SHOPPING!! yay!! Let’s make sure ALL of our Corners are looking FAB, darlings!
