Maybe you heard me scream with joy earlier this week?!?
I was deep in some designs, minding my own business, when I saw them… the Cleo Desk from Four Hands and the most exquisite ceramic vase from Louise Roe. And I’ll admit, I gasped (Ok, maybe a bit more of a scream). Out loud! The kind of gasp where your hand flies to your chest before your brain even catches up! Thankfully I wasn’t holding a cup of coffee or it would have gone everywhere!
Here’s the thing: there are pieces we want… and then there are pieces that cry out to us. That reach straight past the practical part of our minds and grab hold of our hearts. This desk. This vase. WOW. They utterly took my breath away.
Decor like this doesn’t just fill a room โ it dares us. It whispers (okay, sometimes it shouts) live big, be yourself, build the home that exists in your wildest imagination. Sure, they’re functional โ I would love working at that Cleo Desk, and that Louise Roe vase would easily hold the most gorgeous bouquet. But they’re so much more than that. They’re functional and inspirational, all at once. Why on earth should we have to choose?
How we decorate our homes is really just a rehearsal for how we want to live our lives. The braver we decorate, the braver we live.
So I say โ chase the pieces that make you gasp a little….or a lot. The ones that feel just bold enough to be thrilling. The ones that make you feel gloriously, unapologetically like yourself. (and yes. I bought the vase immediately! and need to measure for the desk!!). ๐
