If beige were a person, we’d have to start a campaign to save it… ’cause the name calling it has endured over the years hasn’t been so great. Take the “Builder Beige” title. I mean, really, how mean is that? What did beige ever do to deserve such nasty verbal abuse? It’s not like it volunteered to be slapped up in every house across America for years. Just think of all the merciless slander this poor color has had to endure!
And as if that were not enough, more people have continued to use beige as some sort of description for someone who is not only boring, but just plain bored themselves.
When I read this, I shuttered at the injustice:
“The decor was attractive and strong, but blander than she would have thought his wealth and position afforded him. Caren couldn’t see the point of having that much money if all of it led to beige.” Author: Attica Locke, excerpt from “The Cutting Season”
How rude. I am here to come to beige’s defense and show you it’s softer side… it’s beauty, and by the end of this post, I can almost guarantee that you will be begging for beige…

It never went away for me either. I find it extremely peaceful.
