Why You Need Old Stuff to Make Your House Cool

It might seem counterintuitive to put “old stuff’ into a new house, but that natural warmth and patina is the very thing a house needs to be a home. When everything in the house is too shiny, new, and “perfect” it tends to feel soulless and cold, so I love visiting my clients’ homes and getting to use their cool “old stuff” and celebrate the beautiful stories and history attached to items that have been passed down, collected, and discovered.

A lot of times I see vintage rugs at Estate sales and I have been afraid to plunge into the vintage rug world… until I stumbled across Frances Loom, which paints such a beautiful world with their vintage rugs that now I am obsessed with them. I’ve been drooling over their rugs for a couple months and got SO excited when I saw they are doing a collaboration with Lulu and Georgia, making their pieces even more accessible!
