Okay, I have to tell you about this table. Because once it came together, I just stood back and stared at it for an embarrassingly long amount of time. That’s how you know it’s right!!
This all started with adding a few pillows to the living room in shades of blue that I was not prepared to fall this hard for. I was so inspired that I felt completely inspired to rethink how we set our table for spring. Not just for dinner parties — for every day. Because how we set our spaces is how we set the tone for our lives, and this spring? I want that tone to be warm, layered, and utterly beautiful.
The foundation is this dreamy blue and white striped linen tablecloth and the moment it went down, everything clicked. A stoneware base plate topped with gorgeous blue and white porcelain, a soft embroidered linen napkin with a little rope ring tied around it like the whole thing just casually pulled itself together — heirloom-feeling without being precious about it. Then potted rosemary and thyme down the center with amber votives glowing between them and brass lamps with woven rattan shades. It smells incredible, it looks incredible, and you can send everyone home with a pot of fresh herbs. That is a epic hostess move.
This is what I mean when I say a home should feel lived in and layered. Not perfect — inviting. Styled for people, for long conversations, for evenings where nobody wants to leave.
Pull out the good napkins. Light the candles on a Tuesday. Set the table like it matters — and you will love it!!!! xxV
