Guys, I couldn’t be more excited about Fall. I love this time of the year — the cozy sweaters, the warm foods, the changing leaves, the daily excuse to be cozy and layered up. I also LOVE bringing it into the decor.
When I design I always start with the end in mind. Not so much what it will look like, but what it FEELS like. What type of life do you want to be living? For me I picture the family all together laughing, enjoying each other, cozy sweaters, good jazz music playing in the background. With this gorgeous picture in mind, I start designing.
For this room, that meant warmth everywhere I could possibly put it. A thick dried fern garland running the whole length of the mantel with ribbon trailing down. A berry wreath on the mirror. The fire lit by four o’clock and a basket of logs sitting right beside it.
On the coffee table I layered hurricanes filled with pinecones, dried hydrangea in a stone urn, a rattan tray, books we actually read…..and a photo of the kids I can never walk past without smiling. I wanted a room that felt lived in, a room that invites you to cuddle up and stay a while.
I also designed this room with both high and low items. There were a few fun splurges along the way but a lot of the room is extremely budget friendly. If you click on the photos you’ll see all of the items linked up. What does your dream Fall room feel and look like?
