Plucked From the English Countryside

We finally moved from the tearing down of wallpaper to the actual demolition of the bathroom.  It just took us FOREVER (or two months if you prefer the less dramatic reality) to decide what we wanted.  We talked about Art Deco, we talked about bathroom art, we even chatted bathroom personalities as if tempting fate would somehow bring us to a new bathroom idea but we finally settled on “Plucked from the English Countryside“as our winner.

While I realize that gray + marble + glam is THE bathroom to have at the moment (and it’s GORGEOUS!!) I couldn’t stop thinking of Europe and the countryside… and how lucky we suddenly felt to have a grey stucco house that needs more stone and more country.

OF course there is always a moment of mild panic for me any time I design a new space that it won’t turn out or that it will disappoint or that I should have gone a different direction…

But one look at Marta Marie Forsberg’s instagram account, which is literally plucked from the English Countryside… and now I know.  It’s going to be like a little slice of heaven.  And I can’t wait!

Doesn’t Marie make you want to book a flight directly to England and then take a slow and leisurely drive out to the middle of no where?  I’m reminded of our trip to the English countryside many years ago.  When I die, I hope this is what heaven looks like!
