Wow! Anyone else is awe that we are already 5 months into 2025?! These Spring days are flying by but they are full of sweetness and sunshine, afternoon thunderstorms, and flowers blooming and herbs spilling out of their pots… and I find myself savoring each one of them as though it’s the last.
I made one really big change… which wouldn’t have been a big change if I hadn’t made the one I made last week (I know. That was a mouthful and probably a run on sentence, but we are going with it.) Basically, in my excitement to greet Spring I decided to remove as much black, leather, and spiky vases out of my house and replace them with soft shades of beige, white, and textures more becoming to a “typical” spring, such as linen and cotton.
Guys, I lasted about three days and I’ve now had my own “walk of shame” bringing everything back up from the storage shelves. While my intentions were pure (um. Hello, sweet Spring vibes!) I underestimated how catastrophically important my soul needs boldness. I didn’t even take a picture of the bland and blah version of almost every room of my home (yes, I was very quiet on Instagram this week for this reason!) But as soon as I changed things back, I was back up and swinging.
Over the years I have had a very quick feedback loop thanks to being on social media and a lot of people have tried to tell me that I needed more color… but honestly, what I think ALL OF US NEED is to be boldly ourselves! We must embrace the space that we have and go after it wildly and with great courage as we make it our own.
There are few places on the planet where we actually get something all to ourselves. Sharing is caring, right? Haha. But your home is the very essence of your soul and it is vital to your existence to create something that reflects your tastes and passions. It’s the one place where you are free to be yourself and face no judgement, but rather find true acceptance from yourself and those you share it with.
So, I send you off into the weekend with a big hug and a kiss for each cheek and a brief to embrace yourself, your inner workings, your weirdness, your likes and your dislikes and boldly be YOU. xxV
