Future Trending: The Green Kitchen

Why consider green in the kitchen, you ask?  Besides the fact that it will instantly make you awesome (unless you choose lime green.  That’s still not cool.)

Green is perfect for the kitchen because it represents life, renewal, nature, and energy… and if we are lucky, might remind us to eat our veggies… or better yet, count as at least one leafy green serving per day.

It’s one thing to be on trend and it’s another to be future trend.  Not many people want to put themselves out there, but my friend, Emma Persson Lagerberg, did just that a few years ago when she created her modern Swedish kitchen based on the mint green cabinets she installed.  I’ve been dying over her kitchen ever since and was so happy when she told me recently that she has never regretted her bold choice.

While many are going white in the kitchen or sticking die hard to their wood finishes, some are jumping on to the green cabinet trend and it’s making for some pretty epic interiors for every style, ranging from pale mint to matte sage to lacquered hunter green.  See if any of these kitchens make you want to show your personal style and go green…
