It’s addictive. Â Like chocolate or sugar or diet drinks. Â You surmise that a little won’t hurt, but a little is rarely enough.
Ikea lures you in. Â First promising meatballs and cheap hot dogs and some, like ours in Atlanta, have the gall to put in candy bins. Â God, I want to hate Ikea. Â My dentist should go ahead and name his boat “Swedish Fishy”.
Sometimes they really do produce complete crap. Â Some of the stuff literally falls apart and with a long dramatic sigh you toss it by the curb and swear you will never buy another IKEA piece again. Â Ever.
And then the meatball craving hits.  You tell yourself that they put cute little horses in those things but it doesn’t matter.  Horse meat?  Yum, yum.  (Said with an immeasurably amount of denial.)
And there you are. Â Scarfing down delishness with your overflowing cart just a few feet away and even though you tell yourself that you don’t need half this stuff, you know you are going to buy it anyways. Â Because who doesn’t need a pack of napkins, a new duvet, cheap batteries, and a plant?
Of course you notice the new IKEA Stockholm 2017 collection. Â Sticking your nose in the air doesn’t keep you from noticing on the way up that IKEA has paid close attention to current trends. Â Hand blown glass? Â Natural & sustainable rattan? Â Smoked Oak Wood? Â Damn Ikea! Â Why do they DO this to us?
You quickly check the quality and while you bring your impudent nose back down, you quickly toss a few more things in your cart and make a quick escape to the check out line… because as much as you want to hate IKEA, you can’t help but love it. Â Some of their stuff lasts FOREVER and their Stockholm 2017 collection has only fed your addiction.
The full collection is set to release the first week of April. Â All photos via IKEA.
