It probably won’t surprise you that we believe in being brave in both life and design. We get excited when clients ask for something “unexpected.” That is definitely our kind of our thing! So when our recent clients asked for that very thing, we were pumped to get started! They had invested time and money into the other rooms of their home, but the bedroom was mostly untouched. They were desperately ready for an update!
We asked them to describe their style and two words came to mind: Comfy and Edgy. Maybe those words sound like a contradiction, and perhaps they are, but to us, they sound beautiful and perfectly suited for each other!
Valentina shared this design board with the client and they loved it! We kept comfy in the place where it’s best “felt” which is in the bedding and seating. We brought in an edginess and a bit of sensuality through the light, side tables, art, and accessories. We continued to play on the contradictions by using more luxurious materials such as velvet in the comfy spaces and rough textures in the planter. We love playing with contrast by juxtaposing dark against light, which gives a dramatic yet approachable feel to the entire design.
