It’s FriYAYYY! Woohoo! Did anyone else’s kid survive the first week of back to school? Our Landon started back (the older kids will still have a little more time off!) but it’s always such a milestone moment, isn’t it? Back to school feels like that moment when you want to live a “Who’s Got Mail” moment and send a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils to your best friend. It feels like fall has arrived, even if it’s technically still summer! Whether the weather is cooperating or not, it’s the start of the cozy season. It’s got me thinking a lot about the real purpose of decorating, which of course, we all know isn’t just to be pretty, but to create a haven for us and our loved ones to rest, celebrate, eat, sleep, play… you know, live! And make incredible memories!
As we enter the cozy season, I hope we will inspire you more than ever to create a space built for beautiful memories! Why not get started this weekend? Is there something you need to change? Picture frames that need to be filled (or moments to capture!)? Don’t only think of the big occasions, but consider the power of a bowl of soup, filled from a bubbly pot on the stovetop and a friendly yet competitive game of monopoly before bed. Make sure the beds and sofas are cozy and the light is perfectly dim. Keep the house smelling like cookies and the vases always full of flowers. Stock the shelves with books you can read by the fire and plenty of blankets for snuggling.
I wish you a beautiful weekend, full of happy memories and lots of love! xxV
