Sometimes changing one thing is subtle and sometimes it’s the birth of something new!! Every Fall I crave my Yiyia’s Karidopita (Walnut cake). There’s something about this cake that screams FALL, WARM, and COZY! I grew up eating this cake and now I look forward to making it each year. This year I added my own twist and it is truly amazing!
Yiyia’s walnut cake is perfect for Fall with the spices, the nuts, the honey. This year I had some pears that were perfectly ripe so I took a chance and it paid off! The mix of the spiced nuts and the creamy baked pears is absolute perfection. If you want to take it up a notch (why would you ever settle for going down a notch 😅) add a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
