Now there’s Affogato and then there’s MY affogato. A regular affogato? YUMMY. I mean, honestly, what’s not to love about a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a dash of espresso poured over the top?
But the other night when Hailey and I had a sudden craving for an affogato at 10pm at night and there was no vanilla ice cream, we decided to go rogue… and the result? GAME CHANGING deliciousness that will blow your tastebuds into the stratosphere!
We happened to have Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia ice cream in the freezer so we started with that (because surely the deep, rich flavors of the cherries, the dark chocolate, and the creamy ice cream would pair perfectly with the boldness of the espresso?). oh yes! YES IT DID. It was UNBELIEVABLE!!! And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, we added a dollop of whipped cream and a splash of Kahlúa for good measure.
The result? A mouth watering experience of flavors that are indulgent, decadent, and absolutely unforgettable!
So, if you’re ever in need of a pick-me-up or just want to treat yourself to something special, I highly recommend trying my “V’s Cherry Chocolate Affogato”. You won’t be disappointed! It really is THAT GOOD!!
