I feel like the most frequent topics of conversation I have related to design is: #1 What color should I paint my walls (which the current answer is always WHITE) and #2 Should I hang my tv over the fireplace. It’s not that I am adamantly opposed to a tv over the fireplace, but many of my clients share my opinion that sometimes it is a pain in the neck… literally. So what other options DO we have?

One option that I have been toying with myself is the tv art wall. It is inconspicuous, subtle, and clever… I think. What about you? Do you love it? Or do you prefer it over the fireplace?

But this home tour is just too stinkin’ good to only show you the tv. Anyone else want to poke their head around and check out the rest of the place? It’s packed with ideas you can steal, even if you aren’t living in a posh flat in Sweden.

Here’s what I love:

Put a table behind the sofa for plants if you don’t have window sills.

Mix smooth ceramics with earthy linens

Paint your own art with a canvas and the wall paint.

Paint the walls white to make a small room feel larger

Choose art pieces that have mood and texture.

Use a swing Arm Lamp over the breakfast room Table.

Add curtains in the same color as the wall to add warmth and texture but not too much more.

Display your favorite clothing on the wall (or hang up the next day’s outfit!)

Use your bedroom light to grow plants and give your room life.

Organize your clothing on pretty shelves. This can be done inside a closet, too!

Display art among your clothing to create a lux feel.

Bring in texture through planters, a stool and even found objects.

A rock can be art when displayed as a treasure.

Concrete and warm wood make a space feel warm and inviting.

Utilize open shelving to display your favorite things.

Make the pantry feel “fancy” by corralling like items in containers and boxes.

Play with your finishes. Matte black lighting and chrome live happily together!

Display pretty every day objects on the counter for easy access to serve double duty.

Juxtapose modern art and rustic chairs for an interesting blend (or vice versa!)

Put every day objects on your shelves for quick access and every day appreciation.

Consider rough plastered walls against a smooth modern tub or vanity.

Use a toothbrush holder for a bud vase!

Display pretty bottles (and refill them with grocery store soap when the budget is tight.)

Create little vignettes outdoors, perhaps on the deck or even the porch!

We recently moved into a new home and solved the TV issue with buying a Frame TV by Samsung. It doubles as art when the TV is turned off so it looks amazing no matter where it’s placed, we love it! No one can tell it’s a TV when it’s on art mode, they are shocked when we tell them that’s our TV! Great article & I love your YouTube channel! 🙂
