I have a few home decor items that I believe are “must-haves”. Between client projects, my own home projects, Youtube videos and Amazon Lives I see a lot of home decor items every single day. The other day Jack asked me if I had a few must haves and it was quite easy to come up with a few of my favorites. I currently have these staged in our breakfast room but they’ll work well in a living room, bedroom, office, dining room or any other space in your home.
Cylinder Vases
I’ve owned a lot of these over the years and I love them for a few reasons. Of course they’re practical and I use them for fresh/faux greenery all year round. They’re also great because you can use a pair of them to create interest and add both height and width to a setting.
Faux Flowers
I absolutely love having fresh flowers in our home and I would every day if possible. But sometimes availability, budget and even life (being busy or traveling a bit) can make fresh flowers not possible. Over the last two years I’ve found some amazing faux flowers and greenery and I even use them in the same room as my fresh ones. I’m currently loving the faux magnolias and love the romance and softness they bring to a more structured scene.
No. 34 Candle
I absolutely love a good scent for the home. The way a home smells is a key part of good design and I’m a bit obsessed with this candle right now. It gives the entire space a fresh smell combining moss, blackcurrant leaves, spices and warm woods.
Large books
Books are a staple of my life and our home. I’ve loved them since I was a little girl and I use them in every design project that I work on. One of my favorites looks is a stack of large books. I love them because they’re not only inspiring to read but also because their titles and covers add texture and interest.
