Here’s how an obsession works with me. It starts small, usually seeing something out in the wild (any location outside of my home, this makes everything sound more adventurous 😂). Then it moves to “Let me see if I can source it somewhere (said with a proper designer voice of course). The order is placed, the boxes arrive, and I try to maintain composure… until I see the item. That’s when all decorum is lost! Cue the high-pitched screams, maybe a spontaneous song, and definitely all-out excitement! This is the exact cycle of events happening right now with anything made of wood!
Natural wood is undeniably trending, and I am fully on board! What draws me to it? Well, I have a thing for contrasting elements. I love leather and lace. I adore black and white. And I absolutely revel in mixing hard, elegant surfaces like marble with softer, organic elements like wood. Natural wood elements have a way of softening a space with their organic, natural, and slightly sensual qualities.
