It’s past midnight, so technically it’s Friday while I write this. We have a festive day awaiting us on the other side of a quick sleep… but all I can think about is sipping the last of my spiked mulled cider sitting next to me in the cutest etched glass stemware and tied with a green velvet ribbon… and slipping into a bubbly bath before bed. I genuinely think it’s the most addictive ritual I have and since the temps have dropped and there’s a chill in the air, the thought of being warmed to my soul… well, can you blame me?
I’ve never had so much fun with holiday decor as I have this year. It all feels so magical and it seems to all stem from a couple simple questions- what’s the home I want my kids to return to for the holidays? What’s the home I want to celebrate with our kids and extended family in for Christmas morning? What is the music? What are the foods?
It’s like a fantasy started to unfold in front of me… a dream world with candles flickering and cozy blankets at every turn. The table laden with treats and pretty bows while the beds are fluffy and definitely have that “run and jump into” quality. (That’s the official interior design term! Haha!)
The magic of being home at the holidays has never worn off for me, in fact, it has only increased as I’ve grown older. I’m soaking up every minute, taking more photos than ever, and celebrating every moment- the holiday season is upon us!
So, I know I need to slip away from my desk and but before I do, I wish you a wonderful and magical weekend, full of love and laughter, and perhaps even a bit of holiday decorating and loads of cheer! Sending loads of love, big hugs, and a kiss for each cheek. Your friend and holiday co-conspirator,
V
