It was not so long ago that the trend was for women to be the sole decorators of the home, and for many, that meant that home interiors mostly reflected her taste. These days, though, we’ve got the guys to consider which is why we are seeing more and more interiors that have blended styles. The internet and all the access we have to interior design globally hasn’t hurt either.
Personally, I love it, though at times it feels like my husband’s style and mine are in competition with one another. My style tends to be a bit more minimalistic, traditional, and tailored, while Jack loves ALL things mid century, vintage, and modern, which is exactly why I got so excited when I saw the home of Joanna Laven and her husband, David. Their home is a beautiful blend of Scandinavian elegance and Mid Century Modern, two styles that you might not imagine would really go together. Joanna is a props and interiors stylist and her portfolio is well worth a peek if you have time after drooling over her dream worthy home.
Anyone else hoping for an invite? I have a very exciting project to share with you tomorrow and can’t wait to see you then!
