Pollen season has arrived and I know I’m suppose to hate it… because who likes yellow gunk all over their outdoor furniture… but somehow it brings a feeling of excitement because I know this pain will bring so much beauty!
The azaleas are getting little pops of pink buds on them and the “snowball” viburnum are bursting with robust blooms and the sense of a new season is downright intoxicating.
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to shed the layers of winter and feel warm sunshine on my face! We’ve been making some changes around the house, too, in anticipation of the new season. Our new curtains (an AMAZON find!) are brightening up the rooms along with the linen pillows in shades of cream and taupe. My next project for the weekend? Switch up the bedding! It’s such a nice thing to do for ourselves any time of year, but especially when a new season arrives. I think I’m going to go for my crisp white linen duvet this time. Somehow it feels like it fits my craving! (H&M is a great source for Belgian linens if you are on the hunt for something new!)
Other than switching up the decor, our weekend will definitely be filled with an Easter egg hunt and dying eggs! I’m sure the Easter Bunny will make a visit and leave a few treats for the kids, too! I think I’ll even bake a moon cake this weekend (a yummy lemon and marzipan filled cake that Danes make around this time of year!) And now I will need to add vanilla ice cream to the grocery list to go with it! Maybe we can even sit outside and savor each bite! Yum!
Well, I’m ready for the weekend and I hope my planning has inspired you to plan for adventure, fun, and spring cheer!
