Happy Friday! It feels like the cozy season is drawing us in… either that, or I am sitting like an impatient child by the window just waiting for the leaves to start falling. The anticipation is enough to drive me crazy… I’m so ready for a season of warmth, love, cuddles, cinnamon rolls, loaves of bread with pots of soup, Mac n’ cheese, and lots of baskets full of wood and blankets. I’ve got a pile of books to read… and I’ve been eying up my fuzzy socks… it’s almost here! I’ve already started pulling out my sweaters and jeans, brushing off the houndstooth blazers. The farms are just starting to post that apple picking season is open and all I can think about it making apple pie, apple bread, apple butter… apple anything!
I don’t know about you, but I plan to throw myself, fully, into this season. I’ve already been plotting my fall porch and drives in the countryside and into the mountains.
It really is something special, isn’t it? I say, start planning. Grab your faux foliage and terracotta pumpkins, order your pillows and blankets… because we are a breath away from kicking off the season officially!
This weekend, while stocking up on Fall, we hope to also keep our toes in a bit of summer with fresh figs finally bearing fruit and blackberries bursting on the bushes. Our tomatoes are still going crazy and we might even try to squeeze in some time at the pool before we get our Parker settled back into the University.
