Staying young isn’t about stripping naked and running into water fountains at 2 in the morning. (Not that I ever did that when I was young.). But there is a spirit in those who seem to attain this seemly unattainable dream… as if they drank from the fountain of youth and now live with a vigor for life even a young child cannot match.
You know the type- she might be boisterous or quiet, but she dreams and plans and hopes and sees good (even when she knows what’s going on in the world.). She lives with zest, tends to laugh out loud, never stops dreaming. She isn’t obsessed with looking young, but rather feeling young. She likes to surround herself with people who don’t think there’s an age in which one should “grow up.”
She is wise and definitely not a fool, but She is experimental… willing to try new things in all areas of life… she takes risks, even if they are calculated (because a little dose of wisdom does come with age.) She is open to new ideas, sees the future as if it has no end (but somehow is aware that it does so it all matters), she lives with joy, her spirit cannot be broken, she is full of hope, optimism. She lives with belief. And still laughs out loud. She rides with the window down just to feel the breeze dancing on her hand, and sings out loud, even in a car by herself. Time cannot rob her of her beauty. She is young forever. And life cannot tame her spirit.
If we embrace this idea of staying young forever, how does that change how we create our home around us? I believe it will be infused into the very fiber of the things we buy, the way we view our spaces, and even the way we tackle challenges- seeing them as opportunities rather than problems. Every day is an opportunity to believe and to find adventure and to seek the beauty all around us.
That to me is what I hope we will always be and I hope that for each of you as well. Even if our bodies start to wane, our spirits they continue to soar! I hope you will find so much joy and love this weekend! As always, sending a big hug and a kiss for each cheek. Love always, your kindred spirit! xxV
