I always thought the idea of a Forever Home sounded a little too permanent, which probably won’t surprise you if you know our back story. 24 moves in 17 years? Yeah. That was nuts! But recently we’ve been talking about the idea of a Forever Home, not just being one house, but more the idea of the Home and the Life we are building together. It’s really about defining what matters to you beyond location, and the pillars on which your home is built, like love and passion, courage and kindness… and then a few favorite things, like books and candles… and a garden and champagne for celebrating, as often as possible!
So as we head into the weekend, I hope you will join us in casting your definition of your Forever Home beyond walls and sofas, but to the essence of what makes any place feel like home… because sometimes life demands that our Forever Home has wings, but as I use to tell Jack while living abroad… wherever we are together that is our home. It’s not built in a day or even a year, but it’s the dream of the life, the laughter, and the love and the “accoutrement” that go with it that make it all yours!
