If there is one book that you must own, it is most certainly John Derian’s Picture Book. Call me obsessed but I can’t get enough of this guy and his book constantly reminds me of his world of collected magic.
What I love so much about this book is that it is a little insight into the mind of John Derian while also being completely practical. Every time a season changes or I am in the mood for new art, I simply flip the page and something whimsical and breathtaking awaits me.
This has brought about a much less practical need to visit his New York shop, which apparently is brimming with his ceramics, paperweights, furnishings, and ephemera. But for now, I am content to turn page after page and live vicariously through his instagram account…
