Getting a fresh clean start in your home sounds more complicated than it really is! And you won’t believe the difference it can really make! Every year, we always seem to make resolutions of things we want to change in our lives, especially for the things that matter most in life. For our family, a happy home truly helps to create a happy life! We truly believe that a home refresh can help and here are 3 easy ways to start fresh in 2023!
First, it’s out with the old and in with the new! I bet there’s tons of outdated items in your home, a dull paint color on your wall, broken light switches (which have never worked!) or even a boring looking bookshelf in your home which simply needs a restyle! Don’t overwhelm yourself trying to do everything at once, but set aside a few hours over the weekend to tackle these easy updates!
Second, move things around in your rooms! You may have a lamp sitting on the same shelf for years, but the best place for that lamp may actually be in a different room. This could also mean taking your decor, candles and books from the coffee tables and placing them on a bookshelf to get a totally different look ! This method of moving things around is actually a fast, economical and fun way to bring new life to any space with all the things you have at home. Last year we removed two large chairs from our living room and used them to stage a project until their chairs arrived. This Christmas we pulled them back out to provide extra seating and we fell in love with them again. We love how they look in the space and we’re loving the extra seating they provide.
Third, add back in the life. It’s easy when we’ve taken down our holiday decor and are simply waiting on spring to arrive to feel a little lackluster in our spaces. But by simply adding in a vase full of blooms or a planter with a new bit of green, our rooms spring to life! (I love grabbing flowers at the grocery store and treating our home to a new little plant). Also don’t forget to add a new fragrance to bring a feeling of light and hope to each of your spaces. Here are a few of my favorites!
