If there’s one room in our house that feels like the heart of family life, it’s the sunroom. It sits right off the breakfast room (where we basically live) and it’s home to our main TV, so it naturally became the gathering spot. With three walls of windows, gorgeous views, and just enough separation from the rest of the house, it’s already a dream space—but what makes it really special is how we use it. This is where we pile in with blankets, snacks, and each other for family movie nights, video game battles, or just good old-fashioned cuddling. Popcorn is always required.
This Fall, I decided to turn the cozy dial all the way up. I swapped the light curtains for moody velvet drapes that instantly made the room feel more intimate. Then I layered in chunky blankets, glowing amber candles, a whiskey decanter (because grown-ups need cozy too), our beloved Waterford crystal, and stacks of favorite books. Plaid patterns brought in a masculine edge, balancing out the softness, and now the whole room has this elevated, slightly lounge-y vibe that feels both chic and totally lived-in. It’s cozy, it’s dramatic, and honestly? It’s everything I want Fall to be.
