After yesterday’s glowing review of Aesop’s products, I thought it would be fun to go on a little field trip to visit one of their shops, since they are not only known for great soap, but for heart palpitating design as well. Aesop has nailed simple, modern, and elegant style with shops that are a destination, full of little details just waiting to entice you to find excuses to stay… “Ummm… My! What a lovely sink you have there. Is that so I can wash my hands and try more soaps?”
My favorite, though the one in Hamburg might be a close second, is this green London beauty, designed by Ilse Crawford. I don’t want to wash my hands there. I WANT TO LIVE THERE. (Once, as a small child, we got locked in a store while my mom was trying on clothes in the dressing room. Note to self: Look for a changing room.)
