We only went for a day and a half, but even just a quick trip to Charleston will leave you feeling inspired. It always does for me, at least! It’s so much fun just to walk the streets and get ideas to steal for home exteriors and gardens. I love the way plants grow on the facade and citrus trees hang heavy with their fruit and the roses that climb along the gates. Even the ferns seem to find their way to every nook and cranny. We will be sharing the full trip with you on Tuesday on the Living channel, but for now I wanted to share a little sneak peek!
One of my favorite parts of going to Charleston is the drive through the countryside. It’s magnificent driving through miles and miles of fields busting with everything from cotton to corn! It’s no wonder that Charleston is known for farm to table restaurants! It made realize that we should be looking for the same in our own area and so we’ve booked at table at a nearby farm to table restaurant. I’m so excited!
I’ve also discovered a couple cooking shows on Amazon Prime that have been blowing my mind! One is My Greek Table with Diane Kochilas. https://amzn.to/3Mxuwii
Her episodes are a combination of travel and food and she truly takes you on a journey of Greek culture and food that is delightful! She also has cookbooks available on Amazon and they are all SO GOOD! I especially love IKARIA- I think it’s the prettiest of them all and the recipes are so real and homey. https://amzn.to/3XzNYBD
I love traveling to far away places and even towns not so far away, but my favorite part is always bringing the adventure home with me. So, this weekend the adventure is cooking a Greek recipe with my herbs from my garden while supporting our local farms as well! I can’t wait!
I hope wherever life takes you this Weekend that you find adventure, love, and laughter… and maybe some yummy food along the way! xxV
