Even though I have moved 23 times in 17 years, I don’t stage houses because I like moving furniture in and out of them. I stage them because according to research done by the Accredited Staging Professionals, 95% of Staged Homes sell on average in 11 days and sell for more than 17% more. That may not mean a lot to you if you aren’t planning on selling soon, but for someone who is trying to make the most of the investment they are putting on the market, those numbers speak loudly.
Why do staged homes sell faster?
They sell faster because people can visualize themselves living there. When the clutter is removed, a keen eye is applied to the design, and the space is allowed to shine, buyers can’t help but fall in love.
My team at House of Valentina takes it a step further, though. While houses that are staged sell fast, we have seen that styled homes sell even faster. Staging strips the life out of the home, but styling puts it back in. We create a backdrop for the future life stories that will be lived out and buyers immediately identify with that. The home isn’t meant to feel perfect, but rather approachable, cozy, and undeniably inviting. We encourage buyers to sit, browse the book on the table, and maybe even stay forever.
This home in Sweden is a great example of staged + styled. What do you think? Would you like to settle down somewhere cozy like this?
