It’s hard to believe, but beige is back!
The way beige is coming back today is a beige with a more brown undertone versus the yellow undertones we saw in the 90s and the early 2000s. This beige is much more versatile and can work for you and your home! I know it can be intimidating to figure out if a color trend is for you or not, so I’m sharing five easy ways you can incorporate beige in your home!
#1- Start Small
A great way to see if beige is something you will like in your home is to start with a small piece like a lamp! I bought a beautiful floor lamp from one of my favorite Scandinavian design companies in a taupe color that I just love. It was that perfect little test to see if beige worked for me and it does! You can also try by bringing in other accessories like stone pieces, baskets, artwork, pillows, blankets, and vases.
#2- Look at Your Books
See if any of your books have beige covers or if the actual book underneath is a beige tone. This is a great way to incorporate a range of shades of beige! And don’t be afraid to mix in different shades of beige. That makes it more interesting!
I recently added a travertine table to my sunroom and it’s added so much warmth to my space! Those creamy tones are just gorgeous. Adding a travertine table or accessories like bookends is a great way to add beige to your space! Again, don’t be afraid to mix your tones!
I recently ordered a new bedding set in an oatmeal color that I love! I’ve always been a clean crisp white bedding girl, but I love the mix of colors I’ve created. I have white linen pillowcases, oatmeal shams, a taupe blanket, and I even have a black leather bench at the foot of the bed. I love that it still feels modern yet cozy!
Yes, it’s true I’m thinking of painting my kitchen beige! Though I haven’t totally decided yet, I think the right shade could be beautiful! If you’re not sure about painting a large space beige, maybe start with your powder room.
