Every now and then it’s fun to imagine what it would be like to live in someone else’s shoes… or better yet, their home. While Scandinavians are known most for their modern, very monochromatic interiors, there are actually many people who have very traditional homes with luxury materials and even when Scandis go for a monochromatic look, it can flesh itself out in very different ways. So, today, since I think both styles are beautiful and worth a peek, I have two homes for you to choose from, both of which are in Denmark and are luxurious in very different ways!
The first one is a suburban home that is oversized, hotel-like, and more traditional that what is typically found online. Here you will find velvets, candles, nail head trim, lux wallpaper and crystal chandeliers…
Pretty amazing, right?

Our second home is located near the city center with an industrial feel that is not only architectural but just plain cool. Inside the interior is pure white with black and dark wood accents. The furniture is more minimalistic, more practical, yet equally luxurious as the first home.
Did you choose a favorite? Maybe you would like a mix? I think the traditional pieces in the industrial space would be pretty epic, too!

TRADITIONAL HOME::
Many of the traditional pieces are found at Rue Verte here in Copenhagen, but here are a few of my favorite items will help you get a similar:
Choose a Velvet Arm Chair or a Tufted Dining Chair (These works great for a desk, too!)
Accent with Silver Pieces, Baskets, but balance it with Slim Black Frames with Oversized Matting
Don’t Forget the Crystal Chandelier, Cole and Son Wallpaper, Silver Mirrors and the candles!
URBAN INDUSTRIAL::
Definitely go for a Modern Dining Table paired with Modern Chairs but don’t forget the Chandelier should have wow factor!
Choose a Clean and Simple Leather Sofa (available in white or black) but add a pop with a colorful rug.
Balance the Modern with Natural Materials such as Cement, Bone, and Wood.
If you don’t have a strong industrial core to your space, add an architectural art piece to create the same feel!

Hello there!I think the first one is more urban suburban, very me. After traveling for many years and living in different countries I do love to come home to a quiet chic environment. I have the coziest home in the best neighborhood in my city. I don’t like the coldness of warehouse turned loft dwellings, I love a house with great bones that has history but in the city. Great post.
