I was sitting and snuggling with the boys on the couch today. Parker came home because I told him I had a warm pot of Brunswick stew on the stove and a cast iron skillet of cornbread in the oven. We sat around the table, playing together and eating our little soul warming feast and then retired to the sofa where Louis happily wedged himself between us all and snoozed. I love these quiet and cozy moments in life, the splendid little things that make life so grand. Maybe it’s a crisp winter walk and a hot bath afterwards or a long snuggle under a cozy blanket. Or a little smile from the one you love. Or a little bird landing on the branch outside your window. Or the fire flickering in the fireplace and warming everyone’s faces. Or the sound of your loved one coming home…
I love all those little things. They are the true luxuries of life and why I love creating a home so much! It’s our meeting place for those we love, a place to rest and celebrate and wow. It’s truly the best place in the entire world.
This weekend, I can’t wait to make another pot of soup, snuggling more, and soak up these cozy winter days! I hope you’ll get to do the same! However you choose to spend it, I hope it’s so lovely! Sending a warm hug and a kiss for each cheek. xxV
