Hello, my beautiful friends! What a wonderful time of year it is… just days away from the cozy season being in full swing and for me, the anticipation is nearly killing me! I can’t stop thinking about the warm, furry blankets, the candlelight, the fire going in the fireplace, a pot of soup simmering on the stovetop, the cashmere sweaters, the nights in, the snuggles…. I could go on. It’s such a sweet time of year, isn’t it? It’s full of comfort and goodness and I’m about to explode just thinking about it all! How is this not going to be the best season yet?
On our list for the weekend I’m waffling between making either Kanelsnegle, or Cinnamon Snails, if you translate it directly from Danish… or Kanelsboller, which are cinnamon buns topped with pearls of Swedish sugar. I’ve got a walnut and cranberry loaf rising in the kitchen right now, which is really good because everyone devoured the focaccia I made yesterday evening!
I’ve got the brown velvet curtains to test out in the dining room and since temps are dipping into the 60’s with rain, I won’t feel guilty at all for making a truffle risotto. I can’t wait to set the table and pull out the games… and basically get this cozy season started right away!
