And so a weekend awaits and all the possibilities with it! I had lunch with my mom and she was telling me about how wild I was as a kid… but just not so open about it as my brother. I guess if you want to appear tame, stand next to someone wilder than yourself! I always take it as a compliment when someone calls me wild. According to my mom I’ve always been fiercely determined to do whatever it was I set my mind to… and age has not diminished that. Someone asked online if I am doing something “for the views” and I just about snorted my diet Dr Pepper out of my nose. I was never very good at doing things because I was suppose to and I guess I never will be. Everything I do stems from sheer passion and love or else I cannot be brought to do it at all.
I really do feel sorry for my mom. She could never get me to sleep, could never convince me to do something I didn’t want to do, and for all her efforts, stayed wild when she worked so hard to teach me to do what was expected.
I used to feel a lot of shame about that (but clearly did what I wanted anyways, ie marries at 19, has a baby and moves abroad at 21, moves to Africa, moves to Europe… my god. I do love a good adventure!). Yeah, I don’t feel ashamed of being wild anymore. I’m rather proud of it. I believe that the wildness in us is what reminds us to live with every fiber of our being… you know, juice it.
With the weekend ahead, I hope I encourage you to live wild. We were never meant to be tamed. We were meant to be free. Our life is ours to determine and if we use enough imagination and a lot of luck, we might actually manage an amazing one. So, my question for you is this: What can you do this weekend to juice it? Maybe it’s time to start a new adventure- a garden, a new recipe, start a new genre of books to read, watch a great movie on the sofa… or book a trip to that place you’ve always dreamed of!
