I’ve been thinking a lot about the women who have had a profound affect on my life- the ones who had seemed to nail success in different areas of their lives and left me feeling inspired… and in awe, actually. There was always this something special about them and as I was pondering what it was that made them stand out so much from the other women around them it came down to one thing- confidence. I’ve had Demi Lovato’s lyrics, “What’s wrong with being confident” running through my head and really asking myself that very question. Why did Demi even make that song? Who made her feel like it was wrong? Confidence shouldn’t be confused with arrogance. It is simply the assurance that no matter what happens, the outcome will always be positive. I find that to be an admirable quality and one I have found myself hoping would be contagious!
While it is not something we can catch, it is something we can learn! And it can have a radical affect on our home and our lives. It will help us know ourselves and help us make better decisions. It can also dispel fears that keep us from reaching our highest potential. To answer Demi, I don’t think it’s wrong at all to be confident. So stand a little taller, own the room, love yourself, care for others, do the right thing, be a good human, work hard… habits like these are what I saw that every woman I admired possessed.
We are meant for greatness and it’s up to us to believe that, own it, and stoke that fire. I hope this weekend gives you time to run towards yourself and that you’ll have time to rest, get cozy by the fire, sip a little bubbly, and celebrate this crazy journey we are on! Sending a warm hug and a kiss for each cheek! xxV
