There are so many things to love about Swedish style and this home has so many that it’s hard to narrow them all down. First, the balance between elegance and comfort, which to me, go hand in hand immediately make you feel special yet welcome because the truest form of luxury is comfort. Within this home, there is a balance of luxury finishes, such as velvet and fur with natural materials, such as wood and greenery, that make the space approachable and artful.
There is the play between light and dark, not only within each room, but also varying from one space to the next. In order for light to exist, there must be darkness as well. There are also a couple of ingenious ways that the budget was kept down while not sacrificing style, such as the white metal shelving in the dining area. By putting white against white, the eye does not focus on the shelf, but rather the objects it holds. You could always add more color to the shelf and still achieve the same affect.
Also, be sure to notice the boxes used as side tables in the bedroom and the same hanging system we saw in the Billie Van home tour. I’m itching to hit my hardware store! Oh, and metal baskets turned upside down have become plant stands!
And, finally, as if that were not enough, there is an office/studio in this home that is so beautiful, I’m convinced we will all be aching to move to Sweden! (Though notice that metal shelving has yet again been employed and the table is from IKEA!)

Looking for your own velvet sofa? This dark sofa is crazy gorgeous!
This statement lamp would add serious wow factor. (Just be sure to place it in the corner where you won’t be walking under it!)
This metal shelving is affordable, versatile, and beautiful!
If you want a table, a basket, and a plant stand in one, this metal basket will do the trick!
These wood + glass terrariums are an incredible way of adding a natural elegance, but this kitty planter has my daughter’s name ALL over it!
