If you think changing your home means knocking down walls, spending a small fortune, or living in chaos for six months… I’m here to set you free.
Because today we’re talking about 10 small things you can do RIGHT NOW that will completely change your home. And I’m not being dramatic (okay I am, but only because it’s TRUE). These aren’t “someday” projects. These are todayprojects. And they work because they’re all about one thing: Intentionality. No more “meh.” No more “good enough.” No more “I guess this will do.” Not in this house.
Let’s start with the one that people seriously underestimate: a tree.
Yes. A TREE. A faux tree is basically a quiet little superhero that instantly makes a room feel alive. When you take one out, the space feels… kind of soulless. Like it’s missing its spark. I love eucalyptus and olive trees because that silvery tone is calming and elegant—but if you want a little more drama? Give me a fiddle leaf. That juicy green is EVERYTHING.
Next up—pillows.
If you’re using fiberfill inserts, I say this with love… we need to talk. Because your pillows look chunky. And not in a cute way.
Down inserts are the only way, and here’s the trick: size up. That’s how you get that designer-level, perfectly full, karate-chop-worthy look.
Then we get into the little details that change everything: moss in bowls, sculptural objects, iconic statement pieces, and greenery or stems (and yes, faux florals have gotten insanely good).
And for the love of all things cozy: your home needs real lighting. The glow of a TV does not count. Add lamps. Add a chandelier. Put it on a dimmer. Make it feel like jewelry for your room.
Don’t forget the blanket (not the burrito one your kid loves), and PLEASE invest in coffee table books because they’re not just decor—they’re mood, story, personality.
And finally… the hard truth: your rug and your furniture matter.
Your rug grounds the entire room. If it’s wrong, everything feels wrong.
And if your sofa doesn’t fit, isn’t comfortable, or doesn’t make your heart flip-flop? Stop settling. Life is too short to live in a house full of “fine.”
Because here’s the thing:
Your home matches you.
And you deserve for it to match the best version of you. If you want to see even more ideas check out my newest Youtube video below!
