You’ve been asking for a while and it’s finally here! This furniture has been hanging around UN-painted for over a year and it was time for me to take the plunge and COMMIT. I know a lot of people aren’t into painting furniture that’s vintage but I really wanted to give my bathroom an EdgyGlam update and that meant that this piece was going dark… VERY DARK.
If you remember, this is where we started. Vanities on opposing sides, carpet, and wallpaper. We decided we wanted a double vanity (from restoration hardware) and that this other side would become aaalll mine! So I searched for ages until I found a piece I liked and would fit and then immediately talked myself out of painting… oh, wait. That was my husband and mom who did that! Ha ha!
It was all going so well, but I still missed my black and white. I needed something edgier, something sexier… dare I say, even a little Bad Ass?
Check out the video we made to show how you can Paint WITHOUT FEAR and more importantly WITHOUT SANDING. I can’t say that this is the most professional way of going about this, but I’ve painted tons of furniture this way and it’s lasted for years. If you are worried you can always add a light coat of polyurethane afterwards to keep the finish… but I’ve never had to before and that can make the surface sticky if you aren’t careful to keep it very thin.
Check out the video and tell us what you think!

Looks nice! Love the color that you painted! And your mirror…gorgeous! Where did you get it from?
I have been thinking about painting our little bathroom off the kitchen black and wallpapering it or decals.

I just found your channel and I love your style! I would love to know the source for your black & white chevron tray on the vanity. It’s so unique!
