Suppose for a moment that your life is a movie, an epic tale of your existence with all it’s highs and lows. Would dead silence be your background music? Certainly not! (Unless you are in solitary confinement somewhere and even then you would hear sad violin music echoing off your cell.)
Every great life story requires a soundtrack, and so does your home. Maybe it’s a mixed tape with a few genres, a playlist with all modern music, or a record player with only vintage lp’s. Each one of us has our own special mix for our own unique style!
If you are anything like homeowner, Merete Pascual, you know just what music will be in your background. Merete is a musician in a band called Billie Van with music that is an edgy pop rock with retro undertones. I became a quick #fangirl of her home and her music after shooting her flat here in Copenhagen which is available for long term rental (and short term rental through air bnb). I’ve added in a few of my favorite Billie Van music videos, so you can decide if you agree that Merete has created a space that is SO Billie Van.
(These photo shoots for rentals are a little different than a magazine shoot. I only have about 30 minutes to grab shots, so that let’s you know that Merete has mad styling skills in addition to her music!)
Did you notice the super cool clothes hanger in the bedroom? You could easily DIY your own with some chain, some hooks, and a pipe!

Some of my favorites from Merete’s vintage modern style are:
The Retro Danish mirror in her bedroom!
The Vintage Record Player. There’s something about the crackling sound in the music that makes LP’s so awesome.
This retro clock will make your heart skip a beat!
A Mid Century Inspired Sofa is just the way to blend vintage and modern styles! Don’t forget the side table!
If you love Danish Vintage style, then you MUST have a Catherineholm bowl in your favorite color!
There are so many great choices when it comes to adding Danish Lighting to our homes.
