A Guest Bedroom Makeover You Will Want To Stay In

Guests are nice.  Some even arrive with flowers and chocolates to thank you in advance for your hospitality, but in essence, guests, by sheer definition of the word itself, are meant to leave after a short stay. (Otherwise they turn into squatters and no one likes those.)

But what if you could create a guest bedroom so beautiful that you wanted to move into it yourself?

But what if you could create a guest bedroom so beautiful that you wanted to move into it yourself?

While we were staying with my parents for a few weeks after our massive move back to the US last year we needed a place to work and sleep and my mom very graciously let me rearrange my baby brother’s room.  (He’s not a baby anyone… He’s a solid foot taller than me and just graduated college.)

We knew we would put quite a bit back into the room when we left, but I hope this mini makeover will show you how little you need to create a quick, simple, and beautiful space with almost no money.  We boxed up all of my brother’s things for safe keeping and dressed the bed with our own linens. A favorite blouse became artwork and DIY moodboards became an inspiring backdrop.  A table became a desk and a trunk became a bookshelf.  A few plants and branches from the garden and the room was transformed!
