September was good but CRAZY around the House of Valentina. Between juggling multiple design projects, working on post-production for the Amazon series, keeping the coffee flowing, and trying not to trip over the mountain of Amazon boxes in my hallway (all in the name of “research,” of course), life at the House of Valentina has been busy (but soooo good). Add in the seasonal shuffle—goodbye sundresses, hello cozy knits—and it felt like summer and fall were having a full-on tug-of-war inside my closet and my home. So, I thought: why not share the things that got me through it all? This month’s favorites are all about transition—those pieces that make life feel polished, cozy, and just a little more fabulous while everything else is swirling.
First up, home. I grabbed this super cozy faux fur blanket from Amazon, and it’s the kind of piece that looks like it came straight out of a high-end design showroom—perfect for the side of chair or the end of the bed. To bring in a little warmth, I lit the Hearth & Hand ribbed glass 4-wick candle—it’s cozy, chic, and massive enough to scent the whole room. Then there’s the square basket from Amazon. I actually bought several of these and am using them for firewood, blankets, and anything else that I can think of. For bedding, I refreshed things with Quince’s organic cotton sateen sheet set in charcoal—buttery soft and hotel-level luxe—and layered on their bamboo box quilt set for that perfect fall weight. Finally, I brought in the Maxwell lantern from Pottery Barn, which adds this magical glow in the evenings—cozy, dramatic, and very House of Valentina.
September was definitely a month of wardrobe multitasking, and these pieces carried me through every kind of day. The Mango Short-Sleeved Jacket with Adjustable Waistband is utility-inspired perfection—structured cotton blend, short sleeves, and a drawstring waist that lets me cinch in or go relaxed depending on the mood. When I wanted something a little more classic, the twill jacket from H&M had that perfectly lived-in washed look, with snap details and a straight-cut hem that makes it feel polished but never stuffy. For accessories, I reached nonstop for the Coach Empire Carryall 34 in glazed leather—compact, refined, and chic enough for meetings but roomy enough to carry my entire life. On my feet? The Keds Rena sneakers, which blend retro runner vibes with luxe suede and nylon details—they’re cushy, versatile, and honestly go with everything from jeans to dresses. For cozy days, I grabbed the cropped knit sweater from Amazon with its mock turtleneck and lantern sleeves—cozy but chic, and basically begging for high-waist jeans. And when I wanted instant polish, I threw on the tweed blazer from Amazon—collarless, button-down, and the kind of tailored-yet-effortless piece that makes even a basic tee look elevated.
