Escaping to the Swedish countryside may not have been on your bucket list before, but after you see this beautiful home, I’m certain that you will be packing your bags and booking a ticket out of town asap.
One of the things that I loved most about living in Scandinavia were the long, endless summer days and the slower pace that infiltrated every aspect of life. While Scandinavians know a thing or two about creating beautiful cities and urban dwellings, there is something particularly special about their summer house culture. It’s somewhere they escape to, find inspiration and calm, and create beautiful memories without all of the distractions of the city. Most of our friends confessed to not even having a tv or internet in their summer homes… which kind of gives me a nervous tick and kind of leaves me longing to give my kids memories of running outside and having nothing to do all day but play.
This home in particular, with it’s clay walls, high ceiling beams, and relaxing decor are pretty special, but it’s the separate little house that really caught my attention with it’s little bedroom and views of the water. Breathtaking. Truly.
Oh, and if you think this house must be outrageously expensive to replicate, then check again. It’s loaded with quite a few ikea finds along with vintage items!
