There is something about the holidays that makes most of us want to find our way home. We begin daydreaming of cozy fires, snowy landscapes, and decadent treats and there is a great sense of a collective search for comfort. This year I wanted to add a touch of sparkle to our Christmas, whether through candlelight or gems (or both!). For so many years I have become almost a bit of a grinch, nearly becoming too practical and cynical as I grew older, and I just want this year to be a celebration of health, happiness, and all the little things that make life so grand.
I hope you will join me in the hunt for that enchanting magic that comes with the holidays. Even as we grow older, we must remember that happiness can easily slip away if we do not hold on to it, so let’s grab on tight and enjoy every minute of what I hope will be a beautiful and perhaps, if we are a little lucky, maybe even a perfectly glamorous Christmas, too.
Here are a few ways to add a touch of glamour…
Add A Bow (First Image: Carolina Herrera Similar Coat here, here, and here.)
Or a Wreath
Visit a Snowy Destination
Add a statement necklace (Similar Necklace, Plaid Blouse, Denim Jacket, and Emerald Vest)
Light the candles and pull out the crystal
Wear Tartan + Leopard (Similar Skirt, Heels here and here, and this Bag)
Visit NYC at Christmas
Add Plaid to the Bedroom (Check here, too!)
Bring Home a Berry Wreath (check here and here) (Similar Skirt, Sweater, Plaid Blouse, & Heel)
Use a Matte Red Lipstick (My favorite in Crimson Red!) + Bow Tie
Put Wreaths on your windows (Photo: Valentina Fussell)
Give a little swag to your fireplace
Wear a Velvet Red Heel (Another flat option)
Invest in a Red Blazer (Military or Clean Lined)
Tie on a Red Bow + Sparkly Ornament
Give your lips a red shine (Love this one!)
Wear a Plaid Shoe (Love these and these flats)
Go For a Snowy Walk
Use plaid accents + A Zebra Rug (Image via Ralph Lauren)
